And so Winter has found me
Caught, her grip cold as ice
Trees go bare and gold covers ground
The candle fails to spread its warmth in the empty room
as Kings sing me to sleep in the blackest night
Well... It IS cold here in Tassie. I think it's been around 10 degrees in the last couple of days. But who am I to complain when everyone at home have had a long winter and I none? Though I could use some warmer clothes than these. And the heater in my dorm (that I've had all to myself!) won't really do what it's supposed to do and warm up the place.
Today I've had the pleasure of meeting the Devil. Or 8 devils in fact. At the Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park. Most of them were up and running and sniffing the air for food, some were sleeping. When it was feeding time they turned into wild little beasts, playing tug-o-war with the food, biting and chasing each other. They were a bit shaggy-looking but still cute.
What else, what else... oh yes. "Oh books, how I love thee!" There are so many beautiful books in every bookshop I visit. If only I had an immense library to fill, and enough money to spend! The mission tomorrow is to find something new to read since I have finished The Princess Bride and Taming of the Shrew already. Things are still going slowly with Jules Verne and his Journey to the Centre of the Earth, but I'm trying (sometimes).
If the weather conditions are good enough I might also hop on a bus to the top of Mt Wellington to see the spectacular view.
