Sorry, but I'm not interested in becoming a hoarder

Tomorrow we're going through grandma's things to see what we want to keep. I'll mostly be there to help, as I'm not that interested in old things. Sure, maybe I can use an old pot for my kitchen, but I don't want to drag any collectibles or old furniture home. "You have to take a painting" is what my dad told me. No thank you. Of course I get that he wants to preserve those family things. But I don't want to take anything home, only to leave it in a corner somewhere to collect dust. I want things I can use. And paintings of old ships and the like is just not in my taste.

Close encounter

Had a magpie trying to fly in through my kitchen window this morning. It probably noticed me standing there, watching it. Maybe it wanted to say hello. Obviously, it couldn't get through the glass, but it tried again and then settled for a few seconds on the windowsill, looking in at me. Then it took off again.

It was probably the same bird that woke me up. Heard some scratching that I couldn't locate at first. But when I went into the bathroom I could see a bird flying off the roof outside my window. I bet it wanted to get in from the cold rainy weather outside. I wouldn't blame it.

Finished booking concert and Stonehenge tour tickets today. We're good to go!

To do

Was difficult getting out of bed this morning with my body feeling like an old lady's and heavy like lead. But I managed. It's weekend and time to "rest".


Today's to-do list:

• Go to birthday party (haven't got a gift yet!)
• Go to work to pick up my creditcard that I forgot in my locker yday. Still annoyed with myself.
• Hopefully have time for a little shopping
• Meet up Cornelia and go for dinner somewhere
• Watch Snow White and the Huntsman

A lot to do, but at least (almost) only good things. I guess tomorrow will be a day of re-planting and cleaning the house.

Yesterday me and Cory booked a trip to London. Going to see Grant Lee Buffalo in concert (yes, they're back together!) and visit Stonehenge. And of course, do some shopping! Am so looking forward to it! Excitement!
